Almond Harvest Camp:
Date: 9-19/8/2010 Place: Daher’s Vineyard (Nassar Farm)
Work type: Almond Harvest Number of Volunteers: Open. Participation Fee: $150 (This amount covers food, accommodation, lectures, different programs and activities. However, it doesn’t cover field trips).
Food will be prepared for the volunteers at meals time, for snacks and refreshments, you will be able to purchase from the snack bar which is usually open during the day. Accommodation: volunteers will sleep on beds in a big tent at the campsite.
Please Note: Participants are expected to pay for their flights and to cover for their health insurance.
Project Details: The Almond/Fig harvest camp is provided for both Locals and internationals. Campers will sleep out at the campsite for a whole week. In the morning they will pick Almonds and Figs. In the afternoon there will also be a special program for tour to the neighbouring villages. Throughout the day there will be other fun activities like story telling, open discussions, games & sports and evening gatherings around the fire.
Useful Guidelines: Make sure to get enough sleeping hours because this type of work usually starts very early in the morning because it can get very hot during the day. August : The weather is mostly hot, dry and dusty. Between 26º-32º. On the vineyard it is usually hot during the day and it can get chilly in the evening.
