Olive Harvest Work Camp:

Work type: Olive Harvest

Number of Volunteers: Open.

Participation Fee: $150 (This amount covers food, accommodation, lectures, different programs and activities. However, it doesn’t cover field trips).

Food will be prepared for the volunteers at meals time, for snacks and refreshments, you will be able to purchase from the snack bar which is usually open during the day.

Accommodation: volunteers will sleep on beds in a big tent at the campsite.

Please Note: Participants are expected to pay for their flights and to cover for their health insurance.

Project Details:

The Olive harvest camp is provided for both Locals and internationals. Campers will sleep out at the campsite for a whole week. In the morning they will pick Olives and in the afternoon there will also be a special program for tour to the neighbouring villages. Throughout the day there will be other fun activities like story telling, open discussions, games & sports and evening gatherings around the fire.

Useful Guidelines:

Make sure to get enough sleeping hours because this type of work usually starts very early in the morning because it can get very hot during the day.

October : The weather is mostly hot, dry and dusty. Between 20º-28º. On the vineyard it is usually hot during the day and it can get chilly in the evening.

Stuff you need to bring:

Please make sure to bring with you the following before your arrival:

T-Shirts “light outfits”

Baggy trousers with pockets “cheap quality /brand” for work.

Light jacket “for the evening”.

A cap, hat, bandana.

Sun glasses.

Working gloves.

Long boots “for working in the fields”

Walking shoes “for hiking”

Frame bag pack

Small light bag

Flash light

Sleeping bag.

Tent “if possible to carry”

Camera

Notebook, pen, markers.

Water bottle

Sun protection cream.

Protection cream against Mosquitoes.
