Tree Planting Camp:

Place: Daher’s Vineyard (Nassar Farm)

Work type: Tree planting.

Number of Volunteers: Open.

Participation Fee: $150 (This amount covers food, accommodation, lectures, different programs and activities. However, it doesn’t cover field trips).

Food will be prepared for the volunteers at meals time, for snacks and refreshments, you will be able to purchase from the snack bar which is usually open during the day.

Accommodation: volunteers will sleep in tents at the campsite.

Please Note: Participants are expected to pay for their flights and to cover for their health insurance.

Project Details:

The project is provided for both internationals and locals. During the six days, you will experience planting different types of trees, there will also be a special program prepared for each day. The program will include: general details about the land situation, orientation, lectures, workshops, documentary movies and field trips to Bethlehem and surroundings.

During this period the weather changes very often, it can rain any time but at the same time we might be lucky and enjoy a lot of sun. So don’t be disappointed if it rains the program will go on, we will switch the days and instead we will arrange for tree planting on the warmer days.

The weather is usually warm, windy with light rain between 18º-24º

On the vineyard it is usually warm but windy during the day, it gets very cold in the evenings around 10º.

Stuff you need to bring:

Please make sure to bring with you the following before your arrival:

Warm cloths “Fleece jumpers, wool tops and a thick coat”

Thick trousers “cheap quality /brand” for work.

Rain Jacket.

Warm hats, jackets with hoods, or bandana

Warm Scarf

Thick gloves.

Long boots “for working in the fields”

Walking shoes “for hiking”

Frame bag pack

Small light bag

Flash light

Sleeping bag.

Tent “if possible to carry”

Camera

Notebook, pen, markers.

How to get to us “Map & Direction”:

You will find different taxi at the Airport of Tel Aviv ready to take you to Jerusalem: there are the special taxi or the less expensive Nesher taxi the so called shirut. There you’ll pay about 50 to 60 shekel (ca. 10 -15 $), and you’ll get out at Damascus Gate in Jerusalem (bus station for the cars going to Beit Jala, Al Khadr, etc.) You have to take the bus No. 21 to Al Khadr or the one to Beit Jala telling the bus driver that he should stop at Al Khadr (about 7-8 shekel). Please call us upon arrival in Jerusalem and then at Al Khadr. One of our staff will come to meet you there and to drive together with you to the land.
